Introducing personalised journey notifications
1 month ago
From Monday 9 December, we will be adding an exciting new feature to our mobile app which will help you keep updated on any disruption or changes (such as bus stop closures, diversions etc.) that may affect your journey.
notifications
There are two different types of notification sent to your phone or smart device, depending on the type of disruption and how it might affect you.
Disruption notifications: for example stop closures, diversions due to an incident or delays to a specific service will be sent to your device as soon as the disruption is added to our website.
Network change notifications: such as planned diversions and planned stop closures will be sent as a notification at midday two days before they come into effect.
opt-in
To receive the notifications, firstly you’ll need to have a favourite route and/or stops in your app.
You’ll then need to opt-in in the app to receive the alerts via a prompt which appears either when you favourite a route, stop or journey or in the app's settings page.
Notifications are personalised based on your favourite routes and stops, helping make sure all notifications sent are relevant to you. For example; if one of your favourite routes is the 194 and there is a stop closure on the route, you'll be notified of this change.
app update
To take advantage of this feature, please make sure that you have updated to the latest version of the app in your phones app store.
