Adult Single Fare Cap
After the announcement from the Government that the single fare cap will be increased to £3 from 1 January, we want to reassure our customers that not every fare will increase to this level and many of our fares will be less than £3.
period tickets - no change, still great value
All of our period tickets (day, 7 day etc.) will remain the same price as current. For many people these represent better value than paying the Government single each way - especially if travelling regularly. We also are holding the prices of our daysaver products for occasional travellers.
The table below gives some examples of how much trips cost by using a longer term adult period ticket purchased on our Thames Valley Buses app (tickets for young people are cheaper).
product | price per single trip* |
simplySouth Bracknell 7 day £16.50 (app only) | £1.65 |
simplyBracknell & Wokingham 7 day £19.50 | £1.95 |
simply Maidenhead 7 day £20 | £2.00 |
simplySlough & Windsor 7 day £21 | £2.10 |
simplyNetwork 7 day £28 | £2.80 |
*price per single trip for period tickets based on sale price divided by 10 single trips (5 returns) per week.
£3 singles for the rest of the network
We can now confirm that we will be taking part in the scheme and offer all of our customers a £3 maximum single fare. For some journeys, you will find that the fare is less than £3 but please check with the driver to confirm.
