Welcome to Thames Valley Buses
It’s official, we are now Thames Valley Buses!
From Monday 5th April we have officially changed our company name from Courtney Buses to Thames Valley Buses.
Following our acquisition by Reading Buses two years ago, we began to make greater use of the Thames Valley Buses name alongside investment in new vehicles for Slough, the introduction of low emission “Euro 6” vehicles for Heathrow and Wokingham, and a refresh within Maidenhead.
The switchover will bring smart new branding to the rest of our network in the coming months and we hope it will help to attract more people to our services.
Evolving since 2019
The journey to Thames Valley Buses began after we were purchased by Reading Buses in April 2019 – shortly after the sale, it was quickly decided that a new name and brand was needed. Although we have had a great reputation as Courtney Buses, it is a family name and without the family in the company, it was decided to phase it out.
The change in name reflects our growth from a local to regional operator and the accompanying branding retains elements of our old Courtney brand whilst bringing a new, fresh look to the area.
We now have colour-branded areas – a similar idea to the branded routes of our parent company Reading Buses, but each with its own team of drivers. This allows us to provide friendly services for the residents of Bracknell, Maidenhead, Slough and Wokingham that are tailored to the needs of each area.
New name, same great service
We are all excited by the change in name, but we want to reassure our wonderful and loyal customers that although we have a new name it will be the same great service.
There will shortly be a new and improved website that people can access at www.thamesvalleybuses.com which complements the Thames Valley app that we launched last year to provide real-time information and mobile ticketing for all of our services.
Anyone using www.courtneybuses.com will be redirected to the new site though we advise people to bookmark the new URL.
We are sure that lots of you will have already seen the Thames Valley name appearing on buses and timetable leaflets. But now we are beginning to roll out the name across our website, social media and uniforms – keep your eyes peeled!
